NAMA AGM
NAMA held its 57th Annual General Meeting at the Grand Miramar Hotel in Malaga, bringing together members from across the sector to discuss current market conditions and future industry developments. Key topics included market performance, the impact of new technologies and market entrants, the future used vehicle market, training and education, cybersecurity, vehicle grading standards and collaboration with international partners.
New Chairman
Robin Wilde of BCA was confirmed as NAMA Chairman and will serve a two-year term. Robin is a long-standing member of the Executive Committee and a member of the senior management team at BCA.
New Vice Chairman
Ricky Wilson of Wilsons Auctions was elected as NAMA Vice Chairman. Ricky is a member of the founding family of Wilsons Auctions and has been an active contributor to the Executive Committee for many years.
Hall of Fame Recognition
The AGM Gala Dinner saw industry veteran Simon Henstock inducted into the NAMA Hall of Fame in recognition of his contribution to the motor auction sector.
With a career spanning more than 40 years, Simon served on the NAMA Executive Committee for many years and played a significant role in supporting a number of key industry initiatives.
Charity Auction Raises £13,000 for BEN
A charity auction in support of BEN was once again a highlight of the Gala Dinner, raising £13,000 through the sale of nine lots, including a BEN bear which achieved a sale price of more than £1,000.
Next Executive Committee at Manheim Bruntingthopre
We’re pleased to be able to announce our next Executive Committee meeting will be held at Manheim Bruntingthopre, 27 July. The meeting will be held at 4pm following feedback from members that a meeting in the midlands at a time in the late afternoon would allow for more members to attend.
This meeting will be particularly different as it combines several elements- A site visit of Bruntingthopre (from 1pm), the Exec meeting at 4pm which will include 6 attendees of from our sister association in the US – NAAA.
The NAAA team will share insights into their market, changing customer habits and how this may impact our market in the future.
Following this we will be holding an informal Dinner local to Bruntingthopre with accommodation available for those who may need it.
